For over 20 years, Dr. McIlwaine has developed a practical, straightforward approach to educating and supporting local counselors, business owners, and supervisees as they transition into private practice. While outcomes vary, her work is grounded in real-world experience, offering encouragement, insight, and lessons learned from building her own successful practice. She has been in private practice since 2006 and understands both the challenges and opportunities that come with it.

Drawing on her academic background—including an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology, a Master’s in Counseling, and a Master of Health Administration—Dr. McIlwaine helps clients develop effective marketing strategies, build strong community networks, establish sustainable income streams, and navigate administrative and human resource responsibilities. She also provides foundational education in essential business practices.

In addition, Dr. McIlwaine has designed and taught university-level courses focused on small business development within human services, counseling, and social work—bringing both academic expertise and practical application to her work.

 

Initial private practice consultations are $500 for a 90-minute session, with follow-up sessions available at $300 for 60 minutes. Clients are also invited to join ongoing monthly growth sessions for continued support and consultation.

All Zoom or phone sessions must be paid in advance before scheduling. We accept all major credit cards.
